About

Katherine P. Zimmermann earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in economics from West Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude.  She attended Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law on a Dean’s Scholarship and earned her Juris Doctor.  During the last year of law school, Ms. Zimmermann worked as a student attorney in the Civil Clinic. She also interned for the Honorable Judge Jay Patterson.

After graduating from law school, she practiced family law in private practice at boutique law firms and as a solo attorney for over 12 years. She has also served as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law.

Ms. Zimmermann is a former member of the Patrick E. Higginbotham Inn of Court and the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court.  She is an alumnus of the 2021 Dallas Bar Association’s We Lead Program.

While in private practice, she participated in hundreds of hours of mediation, and has completed 70 hours of mediator training. She is a current member of the Texas Association of Mediators, Alternative Dispute Resolution section of the State Bar of Texas, and the Texas Bar College. She has volunteered at the Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center since 2022, where she has participated in mediations involving a wide variety of case types.
